Kim Polman

Kim’s values are: Balance, Learning, Love, Beauty, Spirituality

Kim Polman adjusted throughout her adult life and learned several languages while moving between different seven European countries.  Her consistent focus has been on learning more about spirituality and participating in various cultural activities, especially music.  She co-managed an arts festival across northern England in the run-up to the millennium.  She has organised countless recitals and performed in orchestras wherever she lived, including currently in the Kensington Symphony Orchestra in London. She played and performed in two piano trios for ten years.  She initiated research on expat spouses who have moved multiple times. She also did research on how expats in Geneva interact with the local museums. She ran a community-based website for the expat community in Geneva.  She co-founded a charity dedicated to encouraging braille literacy for visually impaired students in East Africa, and organised dinners-in-the dark in London to raise awareness of blindness.

Throughout her international life, including travelling extensively throughout her adulthood,  she learned that people everywhere are One, and want the same things, love in their lives, safety for their families, good shelter and food, good education, and that caring for each other is critical.  This led her to a passion for the Golden Rule as a basis for fulfilling the United Nations’ 2015 Sustainable Development Goals, and to co-founding an organisation, Reboot the Future, to promote a modern version “Treat others and the planet as wish to be treated.”  For this purpose she co-authored two books:  Imaginal Cells: Visions of Transformation, and Values for a Life Economy.

More recently she bought a farm west of London with the aim of finding the balance between food production and nature restoration, and for creating a sanctuary to share with others, including her three sons and their families.
